The Eagles have stacked five consecutive wins and have climbed to the top of the NFC East. Philadelphia is flying high as the schedule turns to Week 11 after an impressive 34-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite the Commanders’ success, Washington’s defense has struggled, allowing the fifth-most passing touchdowns (17) and rushing yards per game (142.1) entering “TNF.” According to FTN, Washington’s defense currently ranks 25th in defensive DVOA.

The loss of defensive tackle Jonathan Allen to a season-ending torn pectoral muscle has hurt them against the run. They rank 25th in defensive rush success rate. The Eagles average 4.9 yards per rush (tied fourth-highest).

The Eagles boast a top-flight offense and are healthy entering this matchup. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has scored eight rushing touchdowns over his last four games. He has posted career highs in passer rating (103.4), yards per attempt (8.4), TD% (5.1%), and pass success rate (47.1%) thus far in 2024.

The Eagles running game, spearheaded by Saquon Barkley, will look to continue producing on the ground. The free agent acquisition has paid dividends throughout the first half of the season: Barkley is second in the NFL in all-purpose yards (1,149), and is averaging a career-high 5.8 yards per carry.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is the current favorite to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. The No. 2 overall pick’s dual-threat ability has separated him from the pack. He is just outside the top ten in passing yards (2,147) and has rushed for 464 yards. The rookie has thrown just two interceptions in his first ten NFL games. Some NFL fans are ready to compare him to two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.

A matchup to watch in this one will be wide receiver A.J. Brown against the Commanders’ secondary. Brown has posted (8 rec, 130 yards, 2 TDs) and (9 rec, 175 yards, 2 TDs) in the last two meetings against Washington. The Commanders made a splash at the trade deadline when they acquired cornerback Marshon Lattimore, but he likely will not be activated as he is still recovering from a hamstring strain.

This clash will have a playoff atmosphere as each team vies for supremacy in the NFC East.
