NFL Owners approve Brady’s minority ownership stake in Vegas Raiders
Tom Brady has been approved by NFL owners to purchase a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders in a move commissioner Roger Goodell said was a great sign of the health of the league.
Tom Brady is scheduled to call his eighth NFL game this Sunday with Fox’s top broadcast team.
Brady called the Super Bowl rematch in Week 7, but he also received some big news beforehand. On Wednesday, Oct. 16, NFL owners officially approved Tom Brady’s bid to buy a 10 percent stake in the Las Vegas Raiders with a business partner. The approval was the final part of a process that began in May 2023, and it comes with some notable restrictions that could affect Brady’s new career as a broadcaster.
Now that Brady owns 5 percent of the Raiders, he’s officially a minority owner of an NFL franchise. That comes with restrictions as a broadcaster. According to ESPN’s Seth Wickersham, here is a list of those restrictions:
Brady’s abilities as a broadcaster have been heavily scrutinized. Although his debut drew mixed reactions, he continues to improve with every opportunity in the booth. However, these restrictions bring new challenges into the booth for TB12.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion is still getting familiar with holding the microphone on Sundays. His first season as a broadcaster will culminate in February when he calls Super Bowl 59.

Tom Brady will be on the call for the Fox broadcast this Sunday at Lumen Field, where the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks will play. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
Tom Brady will accompany his broadcast partner, Kevin Burkhardt, while Tom Rinaldi and Erin Andrews will report from the sidelines. Dean Blandino will contribute on rules and officiating in the booth.
The Bills (5-2) and Seahawks (4-3) are at the top of their respective divisions entering Week 8. Seattle could be without their best receiver, DK Metcalf, who suffered a knee injury in Week 7. Meanwhile, the Bills moved to acquire veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper before Week 7 to provide Josh Allen with another weapon.
At this point, there have been no announcements beyond Week 8. When Tom Brady signed his massive contract with Fox, NFL fans wondered when would be the first opportunity for Brady to call a Patriots game.
Fox’s next opportunity to schedule Brady for a Patriots game is next week. In Week 9, New England will be on the road against the Titans, which will air on Fox.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback reportedly signed a historic 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports.
