Sports Seriously
The NFL is taking fans to an alternate reality for “Monday Night Football” in Week 14, transporting the Cowboys and Bengals to Springfield.
Both teams will clash in “The Simpsons” backyard at Atoms Stadium, in another animated broadcast. Fans of the Cowboys and Bengals probably would like to live in an alternate reality given the outcomes of their seasons, but a little animation on Monday night will have to do.
It’s the latest in the NFL’s attempt to be creative with their product. After seeing success with the “Toy Story” alt-cast last year and the Nickelodeon broadcast in recent years, they’ve decided to expand their reach even further.
Monday night will have no shortage of viewing options for anyone hoping to catch the game. Here’s a look at how you can catch “The Simpsons” game.
Fans hoping to transport themselves into the Simpsons’ world for Cowboys vs. Bengals will need to have a subscription to ESPN+, Disney+ or NFL+.
The traditional broadcasts will still be available on ABC and ESPN, with the “ManningCast” being shown on ESPN2.
“The Simpsons Funday Football” broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) with kickoff slated for 8:15 p.m. ET.
While the real-life action is being played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Simpsons are set to host the animated version at Atoms Stadium in Springfield.
