This moment feels tailor-made for Embiid, who will face a French team that he spurned for Team USA in front of a raucous home crowd in Paris.
The former MVP winner got off to a slow start in this tournament and even earned a DNP in the group stage, but he’s been far more effective since then. He’s scored at least 14 points in three straight games, including a 19-point effort on 8-of-11 shooting in Thursday’s semifinal against Serbia.
Embiid has always relished the chance to antagonize opposing crowds, and he seems to be at his best when the boo-birds are their loudest. He’s already called out the French crowd and said he’ll be ready to respond on Saturday … and I believe him.

I’m as big of a fan of Wembanyama as the next guy, but I’m surprised to see this total trading so high amid what’s been an abysmal offensive showing for the French phenom.
As I wrote about in my game preview, France has reached this point in spite of Wemby’s brutal efficiency: he’s averaging 13.8 points on 37.5% shooting, and he shot worse than 25% in each of his last two games to score a combined 18 points.
Even if he tries to will his team to victory on Saturday, he’s facing the best defense he’s seen all tournament. This prop line is dealing at 16.5 at these exact -115 across some of our best sportsbooks, so we’re catching a nice value at 17.5 – a number he’s failed to clear in three straight games.

James has played the role of facilitator for Team USA – tied for the tournament lead in total assists (41) and assists per game (8.2) – but he’s also been the leading scorer (14.2 PPG) for a group loaded with elite offensive talent.
“The King” took over down the stretch for the USA in the semifinals, as he’s done this entire tournament, though he’s yet to lead his side in scoring. I’m compelled to take a shot at these +500 odds, which would profit $50 on a $10 wager if James ends his Olympic career with a bang.
