USA TODAY High School Sports Stars of the Week selections created headlines among a slate of gridiron acton that was filled with front page material
Another barrage of upsets reshaped the latest USA TODAY Sports Super 25, which includes four new teams appearing in the national football rankings.
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) continue to hold the top two spots, setting up an all-time battle at the Santa Ana Bowl on Friday night. While 2022 Super 25 champ St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) and DeSoto (Texas) both had dominating wins and kept No. 3 and No. 4 locked down, respectively.

Outside looking in, it’s a championship-caliber group, with perennial Ohio powerhouse St. Edward (Lakewood), Maryland’s Archbishop Spalding (Severn) and Utah’s Lone Peak (Highland) making the most significant moves up the gridiron hierarchy.
