Sinner vs. Medvedev has quietly turned into one of the best rivalries in tennis.

Sure, there are bigger names out there. Alcaraz vs. Djokovic and their respective other rivals come to mind, but when these two face off, fireworks tend to ensue.

Dating back to 2020, Jannik and Daniil have met a whopping 12 times, with the latter holding a slim 7-5 head-to-head advantage. Sinner has dominated the rivalry lately, winning five of their last six, but that most recent match went to Medvedev in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

That quarter was the second time these guys met in a 2024 Grand Slam, with the first being the Australian Open final. Sinner fought back gloriously down 0-2 in said clash to secure his first GS title. More often than not, these two tend to go the distance.

Each of their Grand Slam matchups have gone all five sets, with Medvedev cruising past 19 total games won. While the 28-year-old typically hasn’t come out on top, he always keeps it close.

Both parties enter this highly-anticipated quarter-final in strong form. Medvedev has dropped just one set through four matches, losing only four total games in his latest contest against Nuno Borges. It’s a very similar story for the world No. 1, as Sinner dropped his first set of the tournament to Mackie McDonald and never looked back.

While I ultimately believe Sinner will win what should be a war of a match, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Medvedev pulls off the upset. At the very least, I think he’ll push it to four highly competitive sets, which certainly could be enough to hit this over. If these two go the distance, Medvedev should win 19 games with relative ease.

That’s my top DraftKings Sportsbook pick for Sinner vs. Medvedev! Stay tuned for more US Open best bets tomorrow.
