One of the six Israeli hostages found dead in the Gaza Strip on Sunday (Sept 1) was an Israeli-American. According to the Joe Biden administration, the hostage was identified as 23-year-old Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Hersh was attending the Nova Music Festival in Israel on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants launched an unprecedented attack.

Indian President Droupadi Murmu said on Sunday that the pendency and backlog of cases is a “big challenge” before the judiciary, further highlighting the need to bring a change to the serious cases remaining pending in the courts. 

In other news from around the world, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence (MND) plans to purchase more than 1,000 additional Stinger missiles from the United States, to deal with increased Chinese military threat to the island nation.
