Week 4 of “Monday Night Football” will feature the Tennessee Titans visiting the Miami Dolphins to kick off Monday’s must-see double-header action.
The Miami Dolphins have been struggling with quarterback issues early this season. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2’s loss to the Buffalo Bills and was placed on injured reserve for at least four weeks. This forced head coach Mike McDaniel to turn to backup QB Skylar Thompson to take the lead, who then suffered a rib injury in the 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. McDaniel has announced that Tyler Huntley will be the Dolphins’ starting quarterback against the Titans.
The Titans are currently facing tough challenges of their own, but seem determined to change their luck. Despite losing their first three games of the season, Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan has announced that Will Lewis will continue as the quarterback, despite his two turnovers in last week’s 30-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Titans are also dealing with injuries to crucial players and will be without starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie after sustaining a groin injury against the Packers.

Reyes writes: “This is a game I would stay away from, but Miami’s defense has actually been pretty solid. No team has more giveaways than the Titans (8), and Tennessee is dead last in turnover differential (-7). Reason stands that the Dolphins will eventually figure out their offense, but quarterback play – whoever it ends up being back there – needs to be much, much better.”
According to ESPN’s Matchup Predictor, the Tennessee Titans have a 56.8% chance to beat the Miami Dolphins in Week 4.
Jennifer Piacenti writes: “The Titans will look to win the first game of the year on Monday, and they may finally get it done. Injuries have ravaged Miami both offensively and defensively. Tony Pollard is in a good spot vs. a Dolphins defense that has allowed the eighth-most rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns to opposing runners this season. Calvin Ridley, who owns 46% of the Titans’ air yards share and De’Andre Hopkins, who saw seven targets for 73 yards and a score last week, could each find success vs. a Dolphins secondary that could be missing CB Kendall Fuller who is in concussion protocol. If Will Levis can keep from turning the ball over, the Titans should be able to win this one.”
Mark Ruelle writes: “I’m going to favor the Dolphins at home over the turnover-prone Titans on Monday night. McDaniels has kept his quarterback choice close to the vest, but if I had to pick one, it would be Huntley on Monday night. Huntley gives the Dolphins experience and the ability to move the ball with his arm and his legs. The Dolphins will lean heavily on their ground game on Monday night against the 18th-ranked run defense of the Titans. They are sixth in the NFL in time of possession and that is their best road to victory. Don’t expect many deep shots down the field but a more methodical approach offensively. On the defensive end, the Dolphins defense has been fairly opportunistic, including two interceptions last week. They’ll get their opportunities against Levis to make plays. I’m banking on them to make enough plays to pick up a tight win. Take the Dolphins -1.”
Staff writes: “Tennessee should have won each of their first 2 games, and I don’t think they’re as bad as people now think. Will Levis has thrown a couple of games away with boneheaded turnovers, but he’ll be the better quarterback in this matchup and the Titans should be able to run the ball with Tony Pollard. The Dolphins are coming off a game where they gave up 5.1 yards per carry to Zach Charbonnet, and the week before that they gave up 7.1 YPC to James Cook. I’m confident we’ll finally see Tennessee get a win on the board.”
