Sports Seriously
The Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers each boast one of the strongest defenses in the NFL, meaning not much scoring should be expected this weekend. However, despite their strong defense, the Chargers have seen their offensive output increase drastically as of late.
Thanks to high-level play from quarterback Justin Herbert, the emergence of rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey, and the consistent production of running back J.K. Dobbins, the Chargers have bolted to a 5-3 record, good for second-place in the AFC West.
The Titans haven’t had similar luxuries, struggling to find their footing on offense with quarterbacks Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. The departure of star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has not helped either. However, thanks to their very strong secondary, the Titans have managed to keep a lot of games close, having lost half of their games by just one possession.

Ravens vs. Bengals | Panthers vs. Giants | Bears vs. Patriots | Colts vs. Bills | Jaguars vs. Vikings | Chiefs vs. Broncos | Saints vs. Falcons | Buccaneers vs. 49ers | Commanders vs. Steelers | Chargers vs. Titans | Cardinals vs. Jets | Cowboys vs. Eagles | Texans vs. Lions | Rams vs. Dolphins
Los Angeles has the NFL’s top-scoring defense and Jim Harbaugh has infused physicality along both lines of scrimmage. The Titans are a team in transition. I don’t think this one is particularly close.
The Chargers have the NFL’s top-scoring defense. Los Angeles’ offense still needs work, but wide receivers Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey are growing into playmakers. Justin Herbert and the Chargers should cruise in this one.
The Chargers are hitting their stride. The Titans are in contention for the No. 1 overall pick.
The Titans’ offense is a mess and going against a strong defense like Los Angeles? It would be a surprise if Tennessee manages to find the endzone.
