IOU? Don’t know if you’ve heard, but Saturday Night Live season 50 is kind of a big deal. The series cast three new people, got rid of three others, and Vulture bet $1,000 that Simone Biles would host the premiere. Instead, the September 28 host is Emmy winner and fake stand-up comedian Jean Smart, making her hosting debut. She’ll be joined by fellow Emmys attendee and SNL noob Jelly Roll. Then, real stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze returns, following the success of his big George Washington sketch last year, alongside Coldplay, marking their eighth SNL stint. Next comes the witchy duo of Ariana Grande, promoting Wicked, and, hosting for a second time with musical guest, Stevie Nicks, who’s back for the first time since 1983. We hope she plays Elphaba in a sketch. Then, on October 19, Michael Keaton comes back to the show for his fourth hosting gig, accompanied by Billie Eilish, who is also on her fourth round. After that, the cast and crew get a break for exactly one (1) week. When they’re back, it’s a “people who the internet is super normal about”-themed week, with John Mulaney hosting for the sixth time and Chappell Roan making her SNL debut. Below, all the dates, hosts, and musical guests for SNL’s big, big season.
September 28: Jean Smart and Jelly Roll
October 5: Nate Bargatze and Coldplay
October 12: Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks
October 19: Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish
