The San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams will limp into their Week 3 matchup with both teams already seeing several of their key players injured to start the season.

The 49ers (1-1) have already ruled receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) out for the game and will miss running back Christian McCaffrey, who was recently placed on injured reserve because of calf tightness and Achilles tendinitis. Tight end George Kittle was listed as doubtful due to a hamstring injury.

NFL bold predictions: Who will turn heads in Week 3?

The Rams (0-2) will be without receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) and tight end Davis Allen (back) for the game. Kupp suffered an injury in the final minute before halftime last week. Puka Nacua will also be out after a Week 1 knee injury against the Lions.

The Rams have won just two of their last five games against the 49ers.

Here’s what to know about the 49ers-Rams Week 3 matchup going into Sunday:

49ers vs. Rams predictions

Sports Illustrated: 49ers 24, Rams 10

Iain MacMillan writes “While I think the 49ers will win with margin, I envision this being a low-scoring game. It’s hard to imagine an offensive shootout with so many weapons being out for both teams.”

San Francisco Standard: 49ers 30, Rams 13

Tim Kawakami writes “The 49ers have had a few get-well games against the Rams over the last few years, and with the Rams even more banged up than the 49ers, this sets up very nicely for another one.”

The Arizona Republic: 49ers 27, Rams 16

Jeremy Cluff writes: “Both of these teams are coming off disappointing losses. The 49ers, even without Christian McCaffrey, were at least competitive.”

Bleacher Nation: 49ers 25, Rams 22

It writes “The 49ers have been moneyline favorites in two other games this season, and they split them. … Los Angeles has not won a game against the spread this season.”
