Sports Seriously
Watch out for the tables on “Sunday Night Football.” The nightcap of Sunday’s action will be in northern New York with the Buffalo Bills (9-2) hosting the San Francisco 49ers (5-6).
San Francisco has been up and down all season, but the Super Bowl hangover appears to be happening after the 49ers got destroyed by the Green Bay Packers. Granted Brock Purdy didn’t play, but the 49ers didn’t look like an NFC contender.
Despite having the week off, Buffalo is still riding high after it handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season and officially declared itself a Super Bowl contender. Now the Bills have a chance to take down the other Super Bowl team from last season in front of the home crowd.
The Chiefs are favorites to defeat the Ravens, according to the BetMGM NFL odds. Not interested in this game? Check out expert picks and best bets for every NFL game this week.

Buffalo had its bye and the 49ers are so banged up that it’s tough to back them in this spot — especially cause the Bills are hitting their stride. Either way, I would wait until later in the week to see the status of Brock Purdy and others, just to be sure about who’s able to suit up.
The 49ers’ impact players have battled injuries all season. Brock Purdy is on track to return this week. Will Purdy’s return make a difference on the road in Buffalo? Yes, but it won’t result in a win.
It’s hard to see the 49ers pulling this one off. Buffalo is just on a roll right now and I can’t imagine them losing at home.
The status of Brock Purdy will be something to watch, but it’s mostly to determine whether this game will be close or not. Buffalo has scored at least 30 points in five straight games and they do it again in another impressive showing.
