Saints at Packers: Predictions, picks, odds for NFL Week 16 game

The Green Bay Packers are a proud franchise. They demand nothing less than the best, so despite their 10-4 record, their fans have been disappointed at their standing in the NFC North. Through 15 weeks, they sit third in the division behind the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. With just three games to go, the Packers are two games out of first in the division. They have not won a single game against either of the teams in front of them.

Still, a division title is not out of reach. It would require a lot, namely the Lions and the Vikings losing to the Seattle Seahawks and Packers over the next two weeks, but there is still a shot. Furthermore, the Packers must win out, which is tough, but easier when one of your opponents is the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints, despite a myriad of injuries, are not out of the playoff hunt just yet. They are 5-9 with almost no hope, but mathematically, they are still in the race. That could be enough to keep the Saints fighting, but facing a much more talented Packers’ team, while being without your starting quarterback is tough to overcome.

Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 16 showdown.

Tyler Dragon: Packers 27, Saints 16

Josh Jacobs had 150 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown last week. The Packers are a different team when their offense features the running back.

Jordan Mendoza: Packers 29, Saints 13

Josh Jacobs probably can’t wait to run all over the poor New Orleans defense. The Packers cruise on Monday night to clinch their playoff spot.
