With the MLB draft less than two weeks away, there’s a lot of attention being paid to the future of baseball, and that also means there are new prospect rankings.
On Wednesday, Baseball America released their newest Top 100 prospect rankings, and the Boston Red Sox had four players make the cut – Marcelo Mayer (No. 10), Roman Anthony (No. 17), Kyle Teel (No. 27) and Kristian Campbell (No. 89).
Since their June update, Mayer has remained in the same position while Anthony moved up two spots and Teel moved up 19 spots.
This is Campbell’s debut in these rankings after he was promoted to Double-A Portland, joining the other three, in June.
Since the promotion, the 22-year-old has appeared in 23 games and has hit .400 with a 1.130 OPS, four home runs, 15 RBIs and four stolen bases.
Sadly, Red Sox pitching prospect Luis Perales, who debuted at No. 57 in June, was removed after recently having Tommy John surgery.
