Raiders at Saints: Predictions, picks, odds for NFL Week 17 game

This game had the potential to be something special. Derek Carr was the Las Vegas Raiders‘ franchise quarterback for nine years before becoming the signal-caller for the New Orleans Saints. This weekend would’ve been Carr’s first time facing his former team.

However, as fate would have it, Carr suffered fractures in his non-throwing hand in Week 14, and there’s a good chance he will not play this weekend. While many people believe he is done for the season, reports indicate there is a chance he will suit up to face his former team. That would add an entire element of intrigue this game had not previously had.

Even without Carr under center though, this contest could have a massive impact on the 2025 draft. The Raiders currently hold the sixth overall pick while the Saints hold the 10th pick. A loss for either team could give them a much better draft position.

Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 17 showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Saints 25, Raiders 13

Neither team has much to play for here, but I simply think the Saints, even with their injuries, have a more talented roster.

Tyler Dragon: Saints 21, Raiders 17

These two teams are just playing for pride. Alvin Kamara will be the best player on the field. That’ll be enough to get New Orleans over the hump.

Richard Morin: Raiders 20, Saints 10

The Saints were a no-show on Monday night. So as much as I feel uneasy backing the Raiders, it seems to be the best option.

Jordan Mendoza: Raiders 17, Saints 16

The Raiders don’t seem interested in getting the top pick in the draft, Las Vegas gets another win against a reeling New Orleans squad.
