Sports Seriously
A pair of teams that have surprised fans through nine weeks will face off this weekend as the Washington Commanders play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In a sense, these teams have reached first-place in their respective divisions despite incredibly different philosophies. The Washington Commanders have decimated opponents with a strong offense. While their defense has improved, it’s been the wizardry of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels that has elevated this team to Super Bowl contenders.
On the other side, the Steelers have relied on a strong defense throughout the season’s entirety, and they have just started to put themselves together on offense with Russell Wilson at quarterback. In essence, these teams are playing each other at their peaks, which should make for an incredible matchup.

FEELING LUCKY? Here are the best parlay bets and odds for NFL games this week
Ravens vs. Bengals | Panthers vs. Giants | Bears vs. Patriots | Colts vs. Bills | Jaguars vs. Vikings | Chiefs vs. Broncos | Saints vs. Falcons | Buccaneers vs. 49ers | Commanders vs. Steelers | Chargers vs. Titans | Cardinals vs. Jets | Cowboys vs. Eagles | Texans vs. Lions | Rams vs. Dolphins
This will be a fascinating matchup. Washington has been a surprise this season behind Jayden Daniels, but they lack a signature win against a clear contender. The Steelers present a tough test, a defense that prides itself on physicality, and an offense finding its way with Russell Wilson under center. I do like this Commanders team, but I’m leaning on experience in this matchup.
Both the Steelers and Commanders were active prior to the trade deadline as they eye playoff pushes. Mike Williams should boost Pittsburgh’s aerial attack and Marshon Lattimore will presumably strengthen Washington’s secondary. But Jayden Daniels’ has been a difference-maker all season. He’ll be just that on Sunday.
This might be the most exciting game of the 1 p.m. ET slate. In fact, the Commanders might be the most exciting NFL team of the season. Although I think Pittsburgh throws Washington some curveballs on defense, the Commanders find a way to win at home.
Pittsburgh might be the best defense Jayden Daniels will have seen so far. Even though the big plays are limited, the Commanders find a way for another victory.
