Pittsburgh Steelers at Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 6 game

October 9, 2024

The Pittsburgh Steelers came out the gates blazing hot, but have cooled off since their stellar 3-0 start. They’ve now lost two straight games to the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts. Needing a bounce-back, the Las Vegas Raiders could not have come at a better time for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers boast arguably the best defense in the NFL through five weeks. That’s really bad news for the Raiders, who were just bottled up by a similarly strong defense in the Denver Broncos. Denver beat Vegas by a solid 16 points, and Pittsburgh’s offense has been much more efficient than Denver’s. All this is to say that barring a pretty significant change in Vegas’ offense, the Raiders could be in for a serious beatdown this weekend.

Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 6 showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Steelers 17, Raiders 6

If Pittsburgh could find some offensive consistency, they could be one of the powers in the AFC. Yet, this feels like a team that will need standout defensive performances to be successful. The good news for the Steelers is that the Raiders are kind of a mess, especially at quarterback, where Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew are competing for the starting job this week.

Tyler Dragon: Steelers 21, Raiders 16

The Raiders are reeling right now. Las Vegas’ season is on the brink of a collapse. The Steelers lost a tough battle to the Cowboys and have an imminent QB controversy on their hands. The good news for the Steelers is they have a top three scoring defense, and they face a Raiders squad that is currently in a tailspin.

Jordan Mendoza: Steelers 20, Raiders 13

The Davante Adams trade rumors are the only thing moving in Las Vegas. Pittsburgh’s defense rebounds from last week’s loss and takes over Sin City.
