Men’s Soccer
Player of the Week – Finn Weigelt, Flagler (So., F, Berlin, Germany)
- Scored both goals in Flagler’s 2-0 conference win over defending champion Clayton State on Saturday
- Scored his first goal came when he slid into the pass and with his left foot, put the ball into the back of the net…scored the insurance goal when he headed in a cross pass in the 82nd minute
- Tied for the league lead in goals scored and leads the PBC in game-winning goals…third in the PBC in points per match
Defender of the Week – DJ Shin, North Georgia (Jr., D, Seoul, South Korea)
- Made his first start for the Nighthawks in a 2-1 over Georgia Southwestern after playing 59 minutes in a loss to Lander
- Recorded an assist on the game-winner against GSW, feeding Rafael Oliveira in the 72nd minute
Goalkeeper of the Week – Juan Rodriguez, Lander (Jr., GK, Nebo, N.C.)
- Recorded back-to-back shutouts in a win over North Georgia and a scoreless tie against Auburn-Montgomery
- Made 11 total saves on the week with seven against North Georgia and another four against AUM…played all 180 minutes on the week
- The shutouts were his first two of the season and he is now tied for third in the PBC in shutouts and is third in saves per game
Men’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week – Nour Nazim, GCSU (Fr., Villa Rica, Ga.)
- Finished in ninth place at the Julius Johnson invitational, running the 8k in 25:22.1
- Was the top PBC finisher at the event and helped the team to a second-place finish in the 14-team field, coming in only behind Division I Mercer
- His time is the seventh-fastest 8k run in the Peach Belt this season
Women’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week – Lauren Thisdale, GCSU (Fr., Snellville, Ga.)
- Finished in 11th place at the 14-team, 110-runner Julius Johnson Invitational, covering the 5k course with a personal best 18:43.5
- Helped the Bobcats to a second-place finish, behind only Division I Mercer but ahead of DI Georgia State
- Was the top PBC runner in the event and turned in the third-fastest 5k run in the Peach Belt this season
Volleyball
Player of the Week – Camryn Carlton, GCSU (Jr., RS, Buford, Ga.)
- Averaged 3.38 kills per set and hit .309 as the Bobcats defeated Francis Marion and Newberry over the weekend
- Had 15 kills and hit .423 in a five-set win over FMU…had 12 kills, three digs and three blocks in a sweep of Newberry
- Currently ranked third in the PBC in kills per set and ninth in hitting percentage
Specialist of the Week – Guilia Rodrigues, Augusta (Grad., L, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
- Averaged 3.93 digs per set as the Jaguars went 2-2 over the weekend
- Had 25 digs in a 3-1 loss to Alabama-Huntsville and another 21 in a loss to Montevallo…also added 13 total assists and four aces
- Leads the Peach Belt with 4.77 digs per set and is tied for sixth in aces per set
Women’s Golf
Golfer of the Week – Kajsa Lindqvist, Lander (Jr., Gothenburg, Sweden)
- Finished in third place at the City with Spirit Fall Classic, shooting rounds of 69-70-76 to finish one-under
- Had four birdies to one bogey in her opening round and four more birdies in the second with 11 total birdies in the tournament
- Finished two strokes out of third place and helped the Bearcats to a seventh-place finish in the 18-team field
Women’s Soccer
Player of the Week – Carrie Consolino, Clayton State (Jr., F, Peachtree City, Ga.)
- Scored back-to-back hat tricks in wins over Young Harris and Albany State, adding two assists for 14 points on the week
- Scored all three Laker goals in a 3-2 win over YHC, including the eventual game-winner in the 78th minute…added three goals and two assists against ASU for eight points
- Leads the PBC with eight goals on the season…also leads in points per game…is the only PBC player with two hat tricks on the season
Defender of the Week – Kelsey Croft, Columbus State (So., D, Douglasville, Ga.)
- Guided a Cougar defense that allowed only one goal in two wins last week
- CSU defeated Tusculum 11-1, holding the Pioneers to three shots with just one on goal…recorded their fourth team shutout of the season with a 4-0 win over GCSU, holding the Bobcats to two shots on goal
- Columbus State is tied for the league lead with only two goals allowed over their first six games…CSU is tied for second in shutouts
Goalkeeper of the Week – Emily Worrell, USC Beaufort (Sr., GK, Keedysville, Md.)
- Played 135 shutout minutes, recording a shutout over Georgia Southwestern and extending her scoreless streak to 270 minutes
- Played in the second half against Palm Beach Atlantic, making seven saves as the Sand Sharks came back to tie the game….made one save in the shutouts over GSW
- Is one of nine goalkeepers in NCAA Division II to not allow a goal this season…also leads the league in save percentage
