As per records, the USA has amassed a staggering total of 3,105 medals from both Summer and Winter Games combined. This impressive tally includes 2,655 medals from the Summer Olympics alone, the highest among all nations.

The USA holds several records in Olympic history. They have won the most gold medals in the Summer Olympics, with an astonishing 1,070 golds. The Soviet Union follows distantly with 395 golds, while Great Britain has won 292 golds.

In the combined tally of Summer and Winter Games, Germany ranks second behind the USA with 1,211 medals, which includes 384 golds. The Soviet Union is third, having secured 1,204 medals, of which 473 are gold.

The USA also boasts the record for the most medals won at a single Olympic edition, having claimed 239 medals at the 1904 Games in St. Louis. Additionally, the USA won the most gold medals at a single Olympics, with 83 golds at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

Former USA swimmer Michael Phelps holds the individual record for the most Olympic medals, with 28 medals between 2004 and 2016. Of these, 23 are gold medals, which is another record for the most gold medals won by an individual athlete in Olympic history.

In comparison, India has won a total of 35 medals across 24 Summer Olympic Games. Their best performance came at Tokyo 2020, where they secured seven medals, including one gold.

On the other end of the spectrum, many countries have yet to win a single Olympic medal. Nations like Togo, Cambodia, and Guyana each have only one Olympic medal to their name so far.
