Taking the floor at La Concorde in the heart of Paris, both Team USA men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams took the court for their second game of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 looking for redemption after both suffered losses in their opening group game.
Unfortunately for Team USA women’s team, they fell again in the final seconds 20-17 against Azerbaijan and put their aspirations of advancing out of pool play in jeopardy. Dearica Hamby led the Americans in scoring, tallying seven points and five rebounds followed by Hailey van Lith, who scored five points. Team USA struggled again from long distance, shooting just 1-7. That said, the real story was Azerbaijan’s Tiffany Hayes, who had 11 points and seven rebounds, shooting 7-9 from inside the arc. Dina Ulyanova also added six points.
Team USA men’s team met a similar fate, falling to Poland by a final score of 19-17. Outside shooting was again a major problem, going just 2-15 from two-point range. Dylan Travis accounted for both of these long-range makes. He and Canyon Barry led Team USA with six points each. Poland was led by Adrian Bogucki’s seven points, followed by Michał Sokołowski , who added on five points of his own.
