Sports Seriously
Green Bay Packers fans enter the team’s “Monday Night Football” game against the New Orleans Saints dreaming of two things: a playoff berth and a white Christmas.
They may get both on the same night.
The Packers can officially clinch a spot in postseason with a win over the Saints. They can achieve that at Lambeau Field, which could end up snow-covered because of some flurries falling in Wisconsin on Monday.
The snow isn’t going to be like what NFL fans saw during the Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game earlier in the season. It might not even fall at all during the game.
Still, there could be a thin blanket of white over parts of the field and the stands for “Monday Night Football.” Here’s what to know about the forecast for the Packers vs. Saints game, as Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season comes to a close.
The Packers vs. Saints game is expected to be played in cold-weather conditions on Monday night. Temperatures will hover around freezing and will likely be in the high-20s by the end of the game, per Weather.com.
There is a slim possibility of snow during the contest. That said, a light snow will be falling in Green Bay throughout the day before the game begins. As such, there could be snow on the field, and the field conditions will be worth watching, especially since the Saints typically played in a dome and come from a warm-weather climate.
Video from outside the stadium five hours before kickoff show steady snowfall as expected.
There is a slight chance of snow during the Packers vs. Saints game, according to Weather.com.

While NFL fans may see that forecast and get excited about the possibility of a snow game, it’s worth noting that most of the inclement weather will come well before the game kicks off. Weather.com reports that the snow is expected to continue through 4 p.m. ET, which is just over four hours before the “Monday Night Football” contest kicks off.
That said, the National Weather Service still has a Winter Weather advisory out through 7 p.m. ET, so perhaps the snow will linger a bit longer than expected. Even so, not much – if any – is likely to fall during the game.
Below is a look at the hourly Green Bay forecast for Monday night:
As mentioned, it may not actually snow at Lambeau Field during the Packers’ “Monday Night Football” game against the Saints. However, there could be some snow on the ground when the game begins.
Green Bay is expected to get 1-3 inches of snow on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Thus, don’t be surprised if there is a small amount of snow on the sidelines or a thin layer coating the field. The Packers’ grounds crew will likely clear as much of it as possible, but traces of it may still be visible on the “MNF” broadcast.
