NFL Overreactions Week 14
Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the biggest NFL storylines from Week 14.
Sports Seriously
There have been plenty of memories made between the Green Bay Packers (9-4) and Seattle Seahawks (8-5) in the Emerald City, and another instant classic could be in store when the two sides meet in “Sunday Night Football.”
Even though they played good football, Green Bay was unable to get past the Detroit Lions and winning the NFC North now is out of reach. Instead, the Packers will focus on chasing Minnesota for the No. 5 seed in the NFC, something that is very much in play for Jordan Love and company.
Control of the NFC West is firmly in the hands of the Seahawks after Seattle won its fourth-straight game with another defeat of the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks are starting to look like the team that began the season 3-0, but they have to remember the lead in the division isn’t by much, so the winning ways must continue to keep away others.
The Packers are favorites to defeat the Seahawks, according to the BetMGM NFL odds. Not interested in this game? Check out expert picks and best bets for every NFL game this week.

Another interesting matchup, I think the Packers are finding something of a rhythm here. The Seahawks have, too, but Green Bay’s offensive diversity — excelling in the run and passing games — should give them an edge, as long as Jordan Love protects the ball.
The Seahawks are clinging to the NFC West lead, but their schedule down the stretch is difficult. Seattle could make a statement if they beat the Packers, but I think Jordan Love and company get a big NFC win.
Seattle’s had a nice season and should be motivated given their standing in the NFC West, but I see them dropping one to the Packers.
This is a game that can go either way, but there’s an interesting tidbit: in the last 10 meetings − since 2009 − between the two teams, the home team has won. With the strange history on Seattle’s side, I’ll take the Seahawks.
