As the first month of the 2024 NFL season rages on, all 32 teams continue to find their footing in the new campaign. Week 2 has boasted some surprises, both good and bad, like the inaugural week. Though many teams have struggled to get on the right foot so far, it is way too soon to determine the outcome for the rest of the outing. There is plenty of time to save a season or fumble it on the way to January.

Here are some of the best, the worst, and the okay moments from Week 2.

NFL Week 2 Review

The Good

The Saints Keep Marching In

New Orleans rode high on the momentum from their 47-10 over Carolina in a showdown against Dallas. The hiring of offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak, is starting to pay off for the Saints and head coach Dennis Allen. Alvin Kamara had a field day against the Cowboys’ defense, racking up four total touchdowns to fuel a 44-19 victory. Now, the Big Easy will have to replicate this prowess against a seasoned Philadelphia defense as they host the Eagles this coming Sunday.

Meet Austin Siebert

The Washington Commanders have a long way to go before they can become a “playoff contender“. But one player, Austin Siebert, took the opportunity to introduce himself to Commanders fans. In a divisional matchup against the New York Giants, Siebert went seven-for-seven on the day, accounting for all of Washington’s 21 points scored. Not only was it enough to get the win, but Seibert set a new franchise record for most field goals made in a game.

The Bad

Terrible Timing for Tua

The Miami Dolphins got thrown into the deep end facing Buffalo in Week 2. Needless to say, the Fins faithful would like to forget the hideous 31-10 defeat to the Bills. To make matters worse, Tua Tagovailoa left the game with his third concussion in three seasons. Currently on IR for 4-6 weeks, speculation of Tagovailoa retiring has begun to swirl. In the meantime, Miami has enlisted Tyler Huntley to beef up the quarterback in an attempt to get back on track.

“Mo Pix” from Bo Nix

Broncos fans don’t have very high hopes in the Mile High City right now. Denver has yet to win a game, and rookie quarterback Bo Nix has yet to throw for a touchdown this season. Nix currently sits 27th in the league in QBR, while completing under 60 percent of his passes. Many may argue that throwing the rookie into the deep end in his first year is no way to develop a franchise player. But Nix and company will have to turn things around as they await the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The “Meh”

Justin’s Field of Play

Pittsburgh had the league and the media talking when they acquired both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields for their QB room. While Wilson is nursing a calf injury, Fields has manned the offense from under center. Fields hasn’t wowed anybody with his 273 passing yards and 1 passing touchdown after two games. But his pass completion percentage has shot through the roof, with 69.8% in 2024. The defense takes the vast majority of the credit for the “black and yellow’s” 2-0 start. But Fields is showing lots of promise under Mike Tomlin‘s tutelage.
