Seventeen down, one to go.
We’ve made it through the entirety of the NFL regular season, but Week 18 is a different animal entirely for bettors. Sure, we know which teams are good, but it’s not about how talented a team is at this point. It’s about how much they have to play for.
The Kansas City Chiefs already have the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up, so why would they put any of their star players at risk of suffering an injury? They likely bench most of their best players to head into the postseason as healthy as possible. On the other end, outside of pride, is there anything the New England Patriots are playing for? They might want to lose to ensure they get the No. 1 overall draft pick.
That uncertainty makes this week both the hardest and easiest time of the year for betting on NFL games. A team with everything to play for facing a team with nothing to play for could be the easiest moneyline you’ll ever witness, but you have to be sure both teams fit the criteria.
