NASA has provided its first update on the massive SEWP VI contract vehicle since the agency initiated a strategic pause on the procurement in August.
The volume of questions from industry drove NASA to slow down the potential $60 billion Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement VI. SEWP program is one of the oldest and most active vehicles used by government agencies to purchase a broad range of IT products and related services.
The SEWP program first launched in1993. SEWP V opened in 2014 and more than $50 billion has been obligated through it since.
Part of NASA’s notice issued Friday includes a new timeline for upcoming updates it expects to issue over the next several weeks, including responses to all industry questions. In fact, NASA put a special emphasis on “all” but by capitalizing and underlining the word.
NASA plans to release its answers to industry questions over three batches between Oct. 1 and Oct. 22.
The agency will open an additional question period from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24.
All amendments and answers to additional questions should go out no later than Nov. 4.
NASA will hold an industry day sometime in November, but a specific date was not set in the update.
The new due date for proposals is Dec. 18. The old due date was Aug. 28.
