Kay Army, who brought a 10-for-10 record from his native
Chile to race in North America, will be scratched from the Grade 2, $400,000 Woodward Stakes on Saturday at Aqueduct.
Trainer Bill Mott confirmed the intended move in a text
message Tuesday to Horse Racing Nation. The story was reported first by Thoroughbred
Daily News. Mott did not say why the colt would not make his U.S. debut
this weekend.

Owned by Ignacio Hurtado, Kay Army is a young 4-year-old, having been foaled in the
Southern Hemisphere in August 2020. The son of Katmai has not raced in the last
six months, but he has breezed six times since he was bought and moved north to
Mott.
With a six-race winning streak built entirely on Group 1s in
Chile, Kay Army had been entered to make only his second dirt start.
With Kay Army out, only Skippylongstocking, Crupi, Tapit
Trice and Masqueparade are left to contest the Woodward.
