Marquette coach Shaka Smart is happy for his four seniors, the fans
The Golden Eagles men’s basketball coach met with the media following his team’s 88-74 victory over Wisconsin Saturday at Fiserv Forum.
Marquette is still a top-10 men’s college basketball team.
After finishing their non-conference schedule with a tough road loss, the Golden Eagles (9-2) fell three spots to No. 9 in the Associated Press top 25 that was released on Monday.
MU is also ranked ninth in the USA TODAY coaches poll after the Golden Eagles were fourth last week.
MU played just one game last week because of exams. The Golden Eagles finished the nonconference slate with a 71-63 loss at Dayton on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles tip off the Big East season against Butler at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fiserv Forum. The Bulldogs beat MU last season at Fiserv.
Then MU plays its first conference road game on Saturday against Xavier in Cincinnati.
