Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 2 game

September 11, 2024

play

Both the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals are coming off devastating losses in Week 1. Both teams were unable to hold late leads as underdogs and thus, both teams head into Week 2 winless.

Matthew Stafford had his homecoming ruined when the Detroit Lions scored late in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then scored on the opening possession of overtime to prevent Stafford and the Rams‘ offense from ever touching the field.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, were massive underdogs to the Buffalo Bills, but still managed to lead at halftime, before allowing Josh Allen to do Josh Allen things in the second half. Although rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not have much impact on the game, there is plenty of reason to believe in this team’s offense with the emergence of Greg Dortch and the impact that both Trey McBride and James Conner can have.

Lorenzo Reyes: Rams 24, Cardinals 20

Los Angeles came out of Sunday night a little banged up, but I still think the wrong team is favored here. I think the difference will be the Rams running game, which should have a much easier time against the Cardinals than it did against the Lions.

Tyler Dragon: Rams 23, Cardinals 20

Arizona almost pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Week 1. The Cardinals will play teams tough. The loss of Puka Nacua hurts the Rams, but the Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp connection is officially back. The Rams swept the season series against Arizona last year.

Richard Morin: Cardinals 23, Rams 20

Marvin Harrison Jr. pulls in two touchdowns as the Rams fall to a shocking 0-2 record. I like the under, too.

Jordan Mendoza: Rams 31, Cardinals 27

The loss of Puka Nacua hurts, but Cooper Kupp reminded everyone he’s still an elite receiver. He and Matthew Stafford put up a solid offensive outing against a Cardinals defense that struggled in the second half against the Buffalo Bills.”
