Suddenly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6) are very much alive and surging toward a playoff spot, and they get a great opportunity to boost their chances when the Las Vegas Raiders (2-10) travel to the Eastern Time Zone.
Las Vegas nearly pulled it off, but a wild sequence doomed its chances of upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday and officially eliminated the Raiders from playoff contention. One of the worst teams in the NFL, all Las Vegas can do now is try to figure out what pieces it will want to keep as it heads toward a big rebuild.
Carolina gave Tampa Bay they could handle, and the Buccaneers emerged victorious in overtime to get back to .500. Now in a tie for first place in the NFC South, Tampa Bay can jump into first as it finishes the regular season with one of the easier schedules in the league.

The Raiders nearly upset the Chiefs on Black Friday. There aren’t any moral victories but TE Brock Bowers leads the NFL in receptions and tops all rookies in receiving yards. The Bucs have a chance to win the NFC South if they finish the season strong.
The NFC South is still right there for the Bucs to take.
In most of the eight straight losses the Raiders have had, the defense hasn’t been able to help the struggling offense. After such a deflating loss in Kansas City, Las Vegas gets crushed by a team that is starting to get hot at the right time.
