MANHATTAN — The unbeaten Kansas State women’s basketball team moved up one spot to No. 10 on Tuesday in the latest USA Today Sports Coaches Poll.
The Wildcats, who improved to 4-0 Monday night with a 73-43 blowout victory over Little Rock at Bramlage Coliseum, were No. 13 in the preseason poll. They also moved up to No. 10 in The Associated Press Top 25 released Monday, moving up three places.
All-American Ayoka Lee had a double-double for K-State against Little Rock, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes. With her 16 points, Lee passed Nicole Ohlde (2,241 points in 2000-04) for second place on the school career scoring list with 2,245.
Zyanna Walker added a career-high 16 points with six assists for the Wildcats, while Eliza Maupin and Taryn Sides each had 10 points off the bench.
The victory was No. 400 all time at Bramlage for the Wildcats, who now have a 400-113 record in the arena’s 37-year history.
Dropped out: No. 23 Stanford; No. 25 South Dakota State.
