LANDOVER, Md. –  The Washington Commanders have injury concerns at quarterback.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a left rib injury in the first quarter against the Carolina Panthers. The star rookie signal-caller exited the game and went to the locker room.

Here’s the latest on the Commanders quarterback’s status:

Jayden Daniels sustained a left rib injury in the first quarter of Washington’s game against the Carolina Panthers. The Commanders initially deemed Daniels questionable to return but he was later downgraded to out.

After Washington’s 11-play, 85-yard field goal drive, Daniels walked off the field in discomfort. The Commanders’ medical staff attended to him on the bench and went into the blue tent for further evaluation.

Daniels left the blue tent and attempted to toss passes along the sideline but appeared to still be in pain. The team’s medical staff escorted him to the locker room.

Veteran Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels at quarterback for the Commanders. The Commanders were up 10-0 when Daniels checked out of the contest.

Washington extended its lead to 27-0 at halftime.

Daniels returned to the sideline in sweats in the second half and was seen smiling and waving to the crowd while the Commanders enjoyed a comfortable lead.
