NFL Week 8 Overreactions
Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the wildest games from Week 8.
Sports Seriously
The Minnesota Vikings (5-2) have gone on a small skid since starting the season undefeated, but they’ll try to right the ship with a Sunday night visit from the Indianapolis Colts (4-4).
There are three things inevitable in life: death, taxes and Joe Flacco becoming a starting quarterback. After Anthony Richardson made some comments about how he was “tired” during the Week 8 loss, the Colts will turn to the veteran Flacco as the team tries to keep pace with the Houston Texans.
Minnesota learned the Los Angeles Rams were still a dangerous team when they handed the Vikings another loss. The Vikings are still in a solid position, but a win is necessary to keep up the pace in a tough NFC North.

FEELING LUCKY? Here are the best parlay bets and odds for NFL games this week
Jets vs. Texans | Falcons vs. Cowboys | Ravens vs. Broncos | Bills vs. Dolphins | Panthers vs. Saints | Bengals vs. Raiders | Browns vs. Chargers | Giants vs. Commanders | Titans vs. Patriots | Cardinals vs. Bears | Eagles vs. Jaguars | Packers vs. Lions | Seahawks vs. Rams | Vikings vs. Colts | Chiefs vs. Buccaneers
This seems like it could be a good get-right opportunity for the Vikings, who have suddenly lost two in a row. Joe Flacco does stabilize the Colts’ offense to a certain degree, but I suspect Brian Flores and his defense will try to return to form in primetime.
The Vikings have lost two straight games after starting the season 5-0. Justin Jefferson ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards and has 10 receptions of over 20 yards. The Colts demoted Anthony Richardson in favor of veteran Joe Flacco. Minnesota gets back on track at home.
As much as I’d love to see Flacco magic take over Sunday Night Football, I just don’t see Minnesota dropping this one.
You can always bet on Joe Flacco to give a quality start under center. The problem is the Colts defense is suspect, and it can’t stop Justin Jefferson and company from having a big game.
