NFL Week 12 Overreactions

Sports Seriously
Week 13 of the NFL season includes a Sunday battle between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints, two teams whose playoff hopes are getting narrow as the stretch run approaches across the league.
The Rams (5-6) are just one game back in a tightly packed NFC West, but need to find some consistency to have a shot at the postseason. Los Angeles has alternated wins and losses over the last month, with last week delivering a humbling 37-20 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite a solid outing from quarterback Matt Stafford, the Rams gave up a whopping 314 rushing yards, consigning them to a sixth loss on the campaign.
The Saints (4-7) have a more difficult situation, sitting two games off the pace in the NFC South, but there are signs New Orleans has started to head in the right direction. The Saints won two straight heading into last week’s bye, hanging on for a 20-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11 before a 35-14 rout of the Cleveland Browns. That latter victory was paced by Taysom Hill, who piled up three touchdowns and 138 yards rushing on just seven carries, and a 71-yard touchdown from Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
