Is there more diversity across the NFL when it comes to coaches?
USA TODAY Sports’ Tom Schad reveals the latest findings from our annual NFL Coaches Project.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will head north to face the Carolina Panthers in a battle between NFC South teams in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season.
Tampa Bay (5-6) went into its bye week on a four-game losing streak, but emerged last weekend with a 30-7 rout of the New York Giants. The Bucs ran all over the Giants, with four different players (including running backs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White) scoring on the ground. That victory may have gotten Tampa Bay back in the playoff picture, with the division-leading Atlanta Falcons one game ahead in the standings.
Carolina (3-8), after a 1-7 start, has seen some improvement of late. The Panthers picked up two consecutive wins before a Week 11 bye, then pushed the mighty Kansas City Chiefs to the limit before losing 30-27 thanks to a field goal as time expired. Since returning to the lineup after being benched early in the season, quarterback Bryce Young has shown signs at being safer with the ball, with just one turnover in Carolina’s last three games.
