The group of favorites, with Pogacar, Vingegaard and others, is made up of 19 riders. Further back comes Guillaume Martin; then comes a group led by Felix Gall.

The other two groups are one with most of the sprinters and further back comes Arnaud Démare.

There are 50 kilometers to go to the end of the stage. There is a group of six riders that has formed the breakaway of the day, having four minutes of difference over the group where the favorites come. The rest of the peloton has split up during the course of the day, which has already seen two climbs. Right now the first groups are descending after passing the Cime de la Bonette.
