Odyssey-Magellan Magnet School in Appleton has been named Wisconsin’s best elementary school, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 rankings.
The publication analyzed 47,573 elementary schools across the U.S. for this year’s edition of its annual rankings. Schools were assessed on the number of students proficient or above proficient on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments.
Half of the publication’s formula assessed test scores themselves while the other half incorporated test results in the context of socioeconomic demographics. There isn’t a national ranking. Rankings are calculated at the state and district level.
