Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 14 game

Week 14 starts off with a bang on Thursday night with the Detroit Lions (11-1) hosting the Green Bay Packers (9-3) in a battle between two NFC North teams with aspirations of a deep playoff run.

Even though the Miami Dolphins were starting to find a rhythm, they couldn’t do much on Thanksgiving night when the Packers pounced on them and got a convincing victory in the cold conditions. It took some time, but the Green Bay offense is hitting its stride, and it goes up against the last team to beat them.

There were some concerns, but Detroit is still rolling after it held off the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving for a 10th-straight victory. There have been many injuries on the defensive side that could hurt the team in the future, but as long as the offense is clicking, the Lions are still a tough team to beat. Can they repeat their Week 9 victory over the divisional foe?

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 28, Packers 20

I’ll probably back Detroit every game for the rest of the season, though Green Bay is a tough, divisional opponent so a close game could be in order. Still, the Lions remain the most complete team in football, and Jared Goff’s precision could present problems for a Packers secondary that can occasionally give up big plays.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 30, Packers 25

Three teams from the NFC North will likely advance to the postseason. Detroit owns the longest winning streak in the NFL. The Lions beat the Packers in Green Bay already this season. They’ll sweep the season series.

Richard Morin: Lions 31, Packers 20

Neither team will have to deal with the cold, windy conditions expected in Detroit Thursday night. This Lions team thrives in its domed stadium.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 30, Packers 29

Detroit has shown it isn’t as invincible as it seems, and it’s headed into the toughest stretch of the schedule. Green Bay has been playing really good football, but the Lions’ offense scores in the final minutes to get the big-time victory.
