Fox Valley Pop Warner awarded grant from Packers and USA Football

APPLETON (WLUK) — A youth football league in Appleton was awarded funds from the Green Bay Packers and USA Football.

USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and a recognized sports organization of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. Its grant program is made by possible by support from the NFL Foundation.

More than $350,000 in fall grants from USA Football were provided to over 630 youth sports organizations. That includes eight in Wisconsin, with the local recipient being Fox Valley Pop Warner Football in Appleton.

These grants are intended to boost grassroots programs so they can bring communities together and inspire a new generation of football players and fans.

“The Packers constantly search for new ways to support youth football in Wisconsin,” said USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck in a news release. “We’re thankful for this chance to work together for the benefit of youth football organizations and local football communities. Our fall grants ensure programs have access to crucial up to date equipment and resources so youth athletes may enjoy America’s favorite sport.”

Other grant recipients include:

  • Poynette Panthers Youth Football in Poynette, Wis.
  • St. Francis Xavier Football in Cross Plains, Wis.
  • Pardeeville Youth Football in Pardeeville, Wis.
  • McFarland Youth Football Inc. in McFarland, Wis.
  • Columbus Football Organization in Columbus, Wis.
  • Southeastern Wisconsin Brew City Pop Warner in Milwaukee, Wis.
  • Mad Town Elite in Madison, Wis.

Since 2006, USA Football has awarded more than $21 million in grants to youth and school-based football programs, benefitting youth and high school players across 14,000 programs in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
