Final USA TODAY Sports Super 25 girls flag football rankings for fall season

December 6, 2024

A girls high school flag football team stands atop the national podium for the first time in the 40-plus year history of the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings franchise.

The Central (Phenix City, Ala.) Red Devils are the 2024 fall season Super 25 national champs, holding off an impressive push from top teams in Arizona, California and Colorado, since taking over No. 1 in Week 4 of the rankings.

All season, the Alabama power demonstrated the type of top-tier talent that has become synonymous with championship teams throughout Super 25 history. They were as dominant on the defensive side of the ball, with standout athletes like Janiyah Garrett, as they were on offense, led by a dynamic quarterback in Gerritt Griggs.

Congrats to the Red Devils and all the teams that appeared in the inaugural Super 25 rankings.

Super 25 flag football selection process

In partnership with the NFL, the teams were determined by a USA TODAY Network selection committee of editors and writers in the participating states and the USA TODAY High School Sports staff.

The process considered factors ranging from last year’s results based on NFHS Network data, carryover into this season, and a primary focus on 2024 records and overall performance.
