Final NFL playoff picture and full postseason schedule

As the 2024 NFL regular season comes to a close, we can finally start to see the clear playoff picture. The early games have ended with some nail-biters and spots have been clinched, but with more games still going on and an NFC No. 1 seed on the line for Sunday Night Football, there is still much to be decided.

As of now, here is what the playoff picture looks like.

NFL Conference Playoff Seedings

The bolded teams are set in stone. The others will be determined later today.

AFC playoff seeding

  1. Chiefs
  2. Bills
  3. Ravens
  4. Texans
  5. Chargers/Steelers
  6. Chargers/Steelers
  7. Broncos/Dolphins/Bengals

NFC playoff seeding

  1. Lions/Vikings
  2. Eagles

Full NFL Playoff Schedule

Wild Card Round

AFC:

As the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs will have a bye week and will not play in the Wild Card Round.

The No. 2 Buffalo Bills will host either the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins, or the Cincinnati Bengals, depending on the results of the afternoon games, and which one clinches the No. 7 seed in the AFC.

The No. 3 Baltimore Ravens will host either the Los Angeles Chargers or the Pittsburgh Steelers, depending on which one clinches the No. 6 seed.

The No. 4 Houston Texans will host either the Los Angeles Chargers or the Pittsburgh Steelers, depending on which one clinches the No. 5 seed.

NFC:

Either the Minnesota Vikings or the Detroit Lions will have a bye week, depending on which team wins the No. 1 NFC seed tonight.

The No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles will host the No. 7 Green Bay Packers.

Either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Los Angeles Rams (whichever one wins the No. 3 seed today) will host the No. 6 Washington Commanders.

Either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Los Angeles Rams (whichever one clinches the No. 4 seed today) will host the loser of the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings game (the No. 5 seed).

Divisional Round

The No. 1 seeds (Chiefs in AFC and either Lions or Vikings in NFC) will host the lowest remaining seed. The second-highest remaining seed will host the second-lowest remaining seed.

Conference Championship Game

The Divisional Round winners will play each other and the higher seed will be the host.

Super Bowl

The Conference Championship winners will play each other at a neutral site. This year’s Super Bowl will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. It will be played on Sunday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m.
