NFL Week 15 either marked the end of your fantasy football regular season or the start of your playoffs. Either way, there were some players who alone may have contributed either to your path into the postseason or your first playoff victory.
Here is a look at Week 15’s top fantasy scorers at each position.
For the second week in a row, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was the top scoring quarterback in fantasy with 41.28 points in Week 15. As massive as that score is this week, it’s still nothing compared to last week’s record-setting six-touchdown game that saw him score 51.88 fantasy points. Still, Allen managed to top all the others at his position with another monster performance in Week 15. In the Bills’ win over the Detroit Lions, Allen completed 23 of 34 passes for a season-high 362 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and rushed 11 times for 68 yards and another two touchdowns.
This week, Arizona Cardinals running back James Connor led his position in fantasy scoring with 30.80 points. In the Cardinals’ win over the New England Patriots, Connor rushed 16 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns, adding five catches on as many targets for 28 yards. This was Connor’s fifth game with 100+ rushing yards this season.
To my own delight, New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams was the top scorer at his position in Week 15 with a total of 42.80 points, pretty much singlehandedly carrying my team to victory. After an uneventful first half, Aaron Rodgers found his groove with Adams, who finished the victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with nine catches on 12 targets for 198 yards and two touchdowns (one for a career-long 71 yards), plus a two-point conversion catch. It would’ve been three touchdowns, but one was reversed. Still, his last touchdown was the 100th of his career, and it was his 23-yard catch followed by another 41-yard catch that set up running back Breece Hall for the game-winning score.
Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith was Week 15’s top-scoring tight end in fantasy with 19.80 total points. Although the Dolphins ultimately lost to the Houston Texans, Smith had a great game, hauling in nine of 11 targets (the Dolphins’ leader in both receptions and targets) for 48 yards (second in passing yards this game), and a touchdown, his fifth score in the last five games.
This week’s top-scoring kicker was Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Chase McLaughlin with 16 fantasy points. In their 40-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, McLaughlin was responsible for 16 of those points, making all four of his field goal attempts from 22, 37, 42, and 43 yards, and all four of his extra point attempts. His four field goals made tied his season-high mark, after he’d just set it in Week 13.
The leading defense in Week 15 fantasy scoring was the Denver Broncos with 22 points. The Broncos had six takeaways to come away with the 31-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts, highlighted by linebacker Nik Bonitto foiling a Colts trick play by hijacking Adonai Mitchell’s lateral pass and running it back, untouched, 50 yards into the end zone for a Broncos touchdown.
