A shootout could be in store at State Farm Stadium when the Detroit Lions (1-1) visit the Arizona Cardinals (1-1).

Detroit’s explosive offense was neutralized by a stingy Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, losing to the visitors in the playoff rematch. It’s the second-straight season the Lions fell in the second home game of the season, but they will try to get the offense going like the playoff threat it is expected to be.

No one expected the Arizona Cardinals to completely trounce the Los Angeles Rams, but Sean McVay’s squad stood no chance against Arizona. Marvin Harrison Jr. had his welcome game to the NFL and Kyler Murray had a perfect passer rating. Could it be a sign that the Cardinals are a sleeper playoff team?

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 24, Cardinals 17

Dan Campbell’s Lions teams typically respond well to poor performances, and I think Detroit has mostly itself to blame for its Week 2 loss against the Bucs. The Lions went one-for-seven in red zone efficiency and Jared Goff threw a pair of interceptions. I expect them to be much cleaner against the Cardinals.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 26, Cardinals 24

The Cardinals are a surprise team through two games. Arizona produced 489 total yards in what was Marvin Harrison Jr.’s welcome to the NFL coming out party. Can the Cardinals match Detroit’s physicality? The Lions will try to dominate the line of scrimmage in this one — and it might be too much for a young Cardinals team to handle.

Richard Morin: Lions 27, Cardinals 17

I think Week 2 was a flash in the pan for the Cardinals, who will be unable to repeat the success at home against a Super Bowl contender.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 34, Cardinals 31

This has the potential to be a high-scoring game with offenses that can get in the endzone in a hurry. While the Cardinals beat down the Rams, Detroit is coming off a bad offensive game and will be in a rush to get back to form. In an entertaining contest, the Lions get the final score to win.
