Drew Brees on AFC competition between Chiefs, Ravens and Texans
Nobody knows how tough it is to play quarterback in the NFL like Drew Brees. He shares the pressure on qbs across the league this season and also talks about his partnership with Sports Illustrated Tickets.
Welcome to the first NFL Sunday of the 2024 season.
After two games earlier in the week, a full slate of NFL games is on the docket for Sunday — including the regular season debuts of several rookie quarterbacks. Among those with a big debut is the Denver Broncos’ clash with the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle, where No. 12 overall pick Bo Nix will start under center for Denver.
Nix isn’t the only one making a big debut in Sunday’s game. Former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald is also set for his first game as a head coach as he takes over from Pete Carroll in Seattle.
Both teams are entering 2024 hoping to overcome disappointing results from last season, as both finished third in their respective divisions and missed the playoffs.

Jordan Mendoza writes: “Bo Nix has been nothing but impressive since he’s arrived in Denver, but going into a raucous Seattle home crowd will be a tough task for a first regular season game. The Broncos couldn’t stop the run last season, and that’s something Kenneth Walker has to be looking forward to exposing. Seattle limits Denver in a convincing win.”
Jess Root writes: “With a rookie QB in Nix, there will be mistakes, so I can’t predict an outright Broncos win.”
Bill Bender writes: “The Broncos had a +4 turnover margin last season, and if Nix can be efficient a road upset is possible here. Geno Smith is more familiar with his supporting cast, however, and DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III each will score TDs in a new chapter of Seahawks’ football.”
