Commanders at Saints: Predictions, picks, odds for NFL Week 15 game

After a slow start to the season, the New Orleans Saints have improved quite drastically since interim head coach Darren Rizzi took over. Sure, devastating injuries to their receiving corps has halted almost any opportunity for the team to reach the postseason, and quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with injuries of his own, but this team has looked at least somewhat respectable the last month.

However, they will be put to the test this Sunday with a game against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. After a tremendous start to the year, the Commanders have cooled a bit and no longer appear to be the unstoppable offensive force they were at the start of the season. Of course, that doesn’t mean their offense isn’t dangerous. If you give them an opportunity, they will decimate your defense and go up by 30 before you can blink. Let’s see if the Saints can avoid such a fate.

Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 15 showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Commanders 26, Saints 13

Washington is coming off its bye and has lost some ground in the NFC wild-card race, so it needs to deliver a solid performance. The Saints have been mostly better since Darren Rizzi took over as interim coach, though, they’re still not a complete team. The bigger issue is the absence of quarterback Derek Carr; without him, it’s hard to see New Orleans being competitive in this one.

Tyler Dragon: Commanders 26, Saints 18

Jayden Daniels’ rookie of the year campaign has taken a hit after the Commanders dropped three of their last four games. But I expect Daniels and the Commanders to finish the season strong as they vie for a playoff spot.

Richard Morin: Commanders 20, Saints 14

Give credit to the Saints the way they’ve been battling down the stretch this season, but I can’t see them knocking off the Commanders. I like New Orleans to cover, though.

Jordan Mendoza: Commanders 31, Saints 23

Any hope New Orleans has left in the season rests on this game. The loss of Derek Carr greatly hurts the Saints and the Commanders get one step closer toward clinching a playoff spot.
