Sports Seriously
The top-two draft picks from the 2024 NFL Draft will go head-to-head this weekend as the Washington Commanders host the Chicago Bears. At least, that’s the hope. After Offensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner Jayden Daniels suffered an injury that kept him out of most of the Commanders‘ Week 7 win over the Carolina Panthers, there’s a chance that Daniels vs. Caleb Williams is postponed to a later date.
Regardless of who is under center for Washington though, Chicago has to feel good about their new franchise quarterback. After a very slow start to the season, Williams has made like the hokey pokey and turned himself around. In his last three games, he’s thrown for seven touchdowns to only one interception, all while maintaining a passer rating over 100.

FEELING LUCKY? Here are the best parlay bets and odds for NFL games this week
Rams vs. Vikings | Browns vs. Ravens | Lions vs. Titans | Texans vs. Colts | Jaguars vs. Packers | Dolphins vs. Cardinals | Patriots vs. Jets | Buccaneers vs. Falcons | Bengals vs. Eagles | Chargers vs. Saints | Seahawks vs. Bills | Commanders vs. Bears | Broncos vs. Panthers | Raiders vs. Chiefs | 49ers vs. Cowboys | Steelers vs. Giants
The Bears are coming off the bye and the Commanders are almost certainly without Jayden Daniels. This, admittedly is not my favorite play out there, but, with the strength of Chicago’s defense, and as Caleb Williams continues to settle, the Bears should handle business here.
Will the game feature the first two picks in the 2024 NFL draft? Jayden Daniels’ Week 8 availability is a huge question mark. Dan Quinn said the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite is week-to-week after injuring his ribs in Week 7. Daniels being on the field gives the Commanders an edge. The game will be close if Daniels doesn’t play.
It’s a shame we’re being denied the Caleb Williams vs. Jayden Daniels matchup, but this is just another opportunity for the Bears offense to stay hot.
The health of Jayden Daniels puts a big question mark on a Commanders offense going against a solid defense. Caleb Williams helps his defense out with a signature drive to get a close win.
