The NFL Week 2 matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans will feature two young quarterbacks who have already been chosen to be the face of their respective franchises.

Quarterback Caleb Williams turned into a star at USC, winning a Heisman Trophy in 2022, before becoming the Bears‘ No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. While he didn’t make a strong impression in his NFL debut last week, Williams did enough to lead the Bears to a 24-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans at home.

C. J. Stroud is coming off an impressive rookie campaign with the Texans after being drafted second overall in the 2023 NFL draft. The Texans won their season opener on the road against the Indianapolis Colts 29-27.

Bettors Insider: Texans 29, Bears 17

Earnest Horn writes “The Bears found a way to win in week 1, despite one of the worst offensive performances we will see this season. On the other side, the Texans played a nearly flawless game outside of a few big plays that the defense gave up to Anthony Richardson. We think Chicago is getting too much respect here and expect the Texans to win by more than a touchdown on Sunday night.”

Arizona Republic: Texans 27, Bears 23

Jeremy Cluff writes “If Week 1 was any indication, Caleb Williams and the Bears could be a headache for teams this season. This could be a very intriguing game in Houston.”

Dimers: Texans 26, Bears 20

It writes “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Bears a win probability of 27%, while the Texans have a win probability of 73%.”
