NFL Week 6 Overreactions: Cowboys, Saints and Jaguars get blown out
Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the top storylines from Week 6 in the NFL.
Sports Seriously
The Washington Commanders (4-2) are coming off a tough loss, but one of the early surprises in the NFL will have a chance to get back on the winning side when the Carolina Panthers (1-5) visit.
Another week, another double-digit loss for the Panthers, who have lost three-straight games all in blowout fashion. The offense is mediocre at best, but the defense can’t seem to stop much. There doesn’t seem to be hope the team is headed in the right direction, but it is in desperate need of a spark.
Washington tried to fight back against the Baltimore Ravens but fell just short from pulling off a signature victory. Yet the Commanders still remain on top of the NFC East and can strengthen its lead with a home victory.

FEELING LUCKY? Here are the best parlay bets and odds for NFL games this week
Saints vs. Broncos | Jaguars vs. Patriots | Falcons vs. Seahawks | Bills vs. Titans | Browns vs. Bengals | Packers vs. Texans | Colts vs. Dolphins | Vikings vs. Lions | Giants vs. Eagles | Rams vs. Raiders | Commanders vs. Panthers | 49ers vs. Chiefs | Steelers vs. Jets | Buccaneers vs. Ravens | Cardinals vs. Chargers
The Panthers are 1-5 against the spread and have lost their games by an average margin of 20.8 points per game. The Commanders played the Ravens tough, and I think they’ll be looking for a bounce back here. More than anything, I don’t see Carolina putting any pressure on Jayden Daniels. And giving him all that time to throw could make this one another blowout.
Last week was a litmus test for Jayden Daniels and the Commanders. Washington lost, but there are positives that they can take away from Week 6. Now the Commanders face possibly the worst team in the NFL. Daniels and the Commanders should cruise versus Carolina.
Jayden Daniels’ Commanders played well in a Week 6 loss to the Ravens, but they’ll be looking to beat up on someone regardless. Carolina will play the punching bag.
Jayden Daniels has no time ripping apart the Panthers’ defense in dominant fashion. The spread is large, but Carolina has lost its past three games by an average of 18 points.
