Bellavinino , who most recently ran second in the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes, sold to Bill Heiligbrodt Sept. 25 for $170,000 to top the Inglis Digital USA September Sale.
Inglis reported 28 horses sold from 54 offered for total sales of $408,750. Average price was $14,598. Three horses were withdrawn from the original catalog of 57. This was the second monthly auction conducted under the Inglis Digital USA banner.
“We maintained strong numbers in line with our first sale, supported by an expanded catalog, and we’re excited with the sale of Bellavinino for $170,000,” said Liza Hendriks, CEO of Inglis Digital USA. “Our digital sales are continuing to grow each month, and we are already having entries come in for our October sale.”
Bellavinino, a 2-year-old daughter of Get Stormy, began her career with a 3 1/4-length victory over the Gulfstream Park turf July 28. Two starts later, she overcame traffic issues and closed fast to finish second in the $1 million Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes.
Taylor Made Sales Agency consigned Bellavinino as agent for owner C2 Racing Stable. She was made available for inspection prior to the sale at the barn of trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
“This filly was a win-win for me,” Heiligbrodt said. “She’s a stakes-quality racehorse, so I can enjoy running her, but ultimately, she’ll be a great fit with my new stallion Cogburn. I have horses with Saffie, so I was aware she was in the sale through my connections in that barn. The digital sales create convenient opportunities to buy a horse like this.”

Bellavinino was bred in Kentucky by Mt. Joy Stables. She is out of the winning Gauntlet mare Lancelots Lady.
Heiligbrodt, along with his wife Corinne, has over three decades of experience in the Thoroughbred business. Their stable is currently led by the aforementioned Cogburn , a son of Not This Time who set a North American record time for 5 1/2 furlongs over the turf in winning the Jaipur Stakes (G1T) at Saratoga Race Course. Cogburn will stand at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky., upon retirement.
Entries for the Inglis Digital USA October Sale are open now, and will close Oct. 21. The catalog will be released Oct. 25, and the horses will sell Oct. 29.
