Sports Seriously
Life in the NFC South is going very differently for two teams in the Atlanta Falcons (6-3) and New Orleans Saints (2-7), and they’ll meet for the second time this season in Week 10.
It hasn’t been a full season yet, but Kirk Cousins looks to be what exactly the Falcons need to reach the next step. The quarterback had another big game to lead Atlanta to its fifth win in the last six games. Now the Falcons have a healthy lead in the division that can extend even further.
People can only wonder how the Saints had a magnificent start to the season. After starting 2-0, New Orleans has lost seven straight games and just fired its coach. The latest move was trading cornerback Marshon Lattimore, signaling the white flag has been raised in the Big Easy.

Ravens vs. Bengals | Panthers vs. Giants | Bears vs. Patriots | Colts vs. Bills | Jaguars vs. Vikings | Chiefs vs. Broncos | Saints vs. Falcons | Buccaneers vs. 49ers | Commanders vs. Steelers | Chargers vs. Titans | Cardinals vs. Jets | Cowboys vs. Eagles | Texans vs. Lions | Rams vs. Dolphins
Sometimes, teams get small boosts when they fire their coaches mid-season, but I’m not so sure that will be the case for the Saints, who appear to be in a full rebuild. The Falcons can be inconsistent but have won two in a row. The offense appears to be in a better rhythm. I really like the Falcons in this spot.
The Saints fired Dennis Allen after an embarrassing loss to the Panthers. Allen’s dismal won’t improve things this year in New Orleans. The Falcons have won two straight one-score games. I predict Atlanta will win this game within the one-score margin, but they have the capability to win in a convincing fashion.
The season is over in New Orleans and they know it. And now without Marshon Lattimore, there aren’t many left on the Saints’ roster who can contain the Falcons’ offense.
The Saints have pretty much given up on the season while Atlanta is rolling toward claiming a playoff spot. The Falcons hand New Orleans another loss in what’s becoming such a disappointment for the Saints.
