Sports Seriously
Welcome to the Kirk Cousins’ bowl; the quarterback will visit his former home when his Atlanta Falcons (6-6) visit the Minnesota Vikings (10-2) in Week 14.
Things are starting to unravel for Atlanta. After starting the season 6-3, it has lost three straight, with the last loss coming in one of Cousins’ worst games as a professional. Yes, the team is still in the lead of the NFC South, but it’s not something to brag over in one of the NFL’s softest divisions. Pressure is starting to mount, and the team needs to get rid of the losing streak quickly.
Even when it isn’t pretty, all Minnesota continues to do is impress, with its latest game coming in a gritty win over the Arizona Cardinals to push the winning streak to five games. Well positioned to make the playoffs, the Vikings will now try to show their former quarterback that they’re doing just fine after he decided to leave in the offseason.

Minnesota has been putting teams away, though they haven’t necessarily been winning convincingly, at least as of late. The Falcons have lost three in a row and have failed to cover each of those, so I’m expecting a bit of a course correction — especially because the Buccaneers are right on their trail in the race for the NFC South.
The Vikings are coming off a comeback victory against the Cardinals. Justin Jefferson ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards. Falcons QB Kirk Cousins tossed four interceptions last week, which tied a career-worst. It might be time for the Falcons to start thinking about Michael Penix Jr.
Is it time for Michael Penix Jr. in Atlanta?
There’s no way Kirk Cousins is treating this like a regular game. His experience in Atlanta hasn’t been all that great and he’ll want to prove Minnesota made a mistake to not invest in him again, especially against one of the lesser passing defenses in the league. However, Cousins presses too much and makes mistakes that are too damaging.
